World Card Making Day

Did you know that it's World Card Making Day this Saturday Oct. 4th? So in honor of this day, we are going to celebrate the whole weekend dedicated to making cards, sharing ideas, sketches and encouraging you create a card! If you've never made a card before this is the best time to start. So come and join us in creating beautiful cards for family and friends starting Friday Oct. 3rd - Oct.6th!
The holiday season is fast approaching and is right around the corner. This is the best time to take advantage and get a head start on all those cards we always want to make, but never seem to have the time to do so. We encourage you to create a card if you've never done one. Think about your Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas Cards this year! Not to mention just general cards for birthdays, hello and maybe even blank one's for all those last minute cards you need at hand!
There are no rules, surprises or challenges....well the challenge is to get you to create a card! We will give a RAK to a random pariticipant for the weekend. All cards must be posted in the gallery and in the corresponding thread by Sunday Oct. 5th midnight to be entered in the random drawing. So come and spend the weekend with us for some card making fun!

The new Narratives Easel book is in stock in all three gorgeous colors. Time for some INSPIRATION!!

I know you all have times like me where you are just STUCK! Just dying for some inspiration, so new ideas. Well I am gonna share with you some of my favorite places to go to for inspiration. Blogs, challenges, and websites! FUN STUFF! So here we go!

1. Blog inspiration

My absolute favorite blog to go to is by Keisha Campbell. She is one fabulous scrapper. She designs for Making Memories and Heidi Swapp to name a couple. Not only does she scrap but she is a fabulous photographer. I love that she lives in China too because you can see all the fabulous stuff they see there in her pictures of her children and her life. Make sure you check her out!

Another blog I LOVE to visit is Leah Fung's. She posts super fun how-to video's on her blog that have such great ideas. Most recent is on mini albums so make sure you check it out!!

2. Challenge blogs

Of course you know the first one I am gonna tell you about is my absolute favorite and of course I am biased! hehe

At Creative Therapy, "the idea of this one would be using art, scrapbooking, photography, or whatever your creative outlet is as a form of self-therapy. It doesn’t have to be revealing. It can be with colors, a specific technique, lots of journaling, or very few words. It can be art journaling. It can be anything you want as long as it’s therapeutic to you. Creative therapy."(as quoted by blog owner Karen Grunberg) Make sure you check this one out, you will be inspired, uplifted, and will want to create right a way!

Here's a list of some others you HAVE to bookmark!
The Design eXperiment-real challenges, raw topics, and creative prompts
The Pretty Committee-Emphasis on all things girly!
One Little Word-this one is all about words
Got Mojo?-a place where you can come and find inspiration to get those funky ideas stirred up in those magnificent brains

3. Other places to look for inspiration

You don't necessarily have to look to a specific website for inspitration. You can check out ads, sketches, etc. Check out these:

Gosh, REALLY, the possibilites are endless. I hope I have helped you to gain an eye for things to catch when you are surfing the net.

I also wanted to make sure you catch a few NEW things in the store! Michelle has such an awesome mind for beautiful supplies!!

These blossoms are by Maya Road.

These KI Memories Sheer Delights look so fun!!

I just love this Sassafrass Lass Happy Place patterned paper.

And make sure you check out Michelle's GORGEOUS findings!
NOW go get lost in the store! It's so worth it.

Make sure you stop by this weekend for A Million Memories Anniversary Crop. The DT has some great challenges and games planned. And I know we all love prizes too. So stop by and join in the fun. Make sure you spread the word to all your friends. The more the merrier!!

Lastly, but DEFINITELY not least, make sure you go get signed up for Patti's upcoming class. She's really got a great one for you so make sure you get your class purchased here.

Hi there, Lori Gentile, again. I'm really excited to share our Layout of the Week (LOTW) with you. Each week, on Sunday, the design team pours over the gallery to find one LOTW from the week before. For example, our LOTW for this week was posted between August 31st and September 6th. If we choose your layout, you will be featured on our Everything Scrapbook board, on the AMM Homepage, in our weekly newsletter and on our blog! That's a lot of coverage and it's a lot of fun to be chosen! It's worthwhile to post your layouts in our gallery. You will find that we have a very busy gallery and that our community is very generous with praise. If you've been lurking, we sure hope you'll stop by, introduce yourself, and share your work with us!

This week's LOTW is by JenniferH. I love this layout. It's unique and it obviously took a lot of time and attention to detail to get it done. I think it's a FABULOUS way to do a year-in-review layout. Jennifer is new to our community and we are so happy she joined us. You can take a look at more of her wonderful work in her gallery. Congrats, Jennifer!

Give Away and a Challenge

Hi there! Lori Gentile here and I want to share two fun things happening on the AMM boards, right now.

1. Michelle is going to give away this gorgeous pack of Basic Grey Granola papers. You can have it before anyone else and all you have to do to enter to win is post on this thread something you are thankful for. It doesn't get any easier than that. But, hurry, this contest ends on Tuesday! Check out this awesome give away!!!

2. The new DT Challenge is up. It is to alter a photograph. You can do something in your photo editing program, like add brushes, frames, or text, or you can add rub-ons, paint, stickers, tear it, ink it, etc. The only catch is that your layout needs to be based on a sketch from our DT Sketch Forum. This will not only enter you to win a special rak for completing the challenge, it will, also, enter you to win the amazing grand prize of thickers being given away for doing sketches from the sketch forum this month.

Here is my example for the challenge. It is based on Hilde's sketch #22. I used the AMM September Kit. To alter my photo, I added a frame in photoshop, printed it out, inked the edges and added buttons. You have from now, September 7th until September 20th to complete this DT Challenge. Come play along for the chance to win two great prizes!

Here is the Layout of the Week! Staci really rocked this layout! I love how she made a frame of tulle and the yellow ribbon around the bottom is a perfect touch! And check out the use of color! The pop of orange on the neutral background is stunning. She also used a couple of design tricks that I am found of. First the rule of three or the odd rule (I made the term odd rule up but it works for me =D) With this rule you repeat similar elements in odd numbers such as 3, 5, 7. Your mind will stop and linger on the page if you do this because of your brains tendency to pair things up. The other trick is the triangle she made with the orange flowers. This is a great technique as it gives your mind an imaginary line to follow around the page!

September Kit is now for SALE!

September kit, Little House In The Woods, designed by Jennifer Findlay is now available!! Look at this beautiful, amazing kit!

You can now buy it here!.
